The Omen
"Gregory Peck is the ambassador to the United States who's wife has a stillborn child. Without her knowledge, he substitutes another baby as theirs. A few years go by, and then grisly deaths begin to happen. The child's nanny hangs herself and a priest is speared to death in a freak accident. It turns out the child is the son of Satan and can only be killed with the seven daggers of Meggado."This is similar to our film as it is about a young child who is possessed by a demon and is mysteriously killing people around him. Damien in The Omen is destroying peoples lives around him which is similar to our storyline as the long lost sister in our film is trying to destroy the sisters lives.
The Exorcist
"Something beyond evil is happening in a little girl's room. Regan has brutally changed both in the way she looks and the way she acts, with violent outbursts on everyone who comes in contact with her. Her worried mother gets in contact with a priest who comes to the conclusion that Regan is possessed. The top priest who can deal with an exorcism, Father Merrin, is called in to help save Regan from the demon inside her."
This is similar to our idea as it is about a girl who is mentally and physically possessed by a demon and is going crazy and scaring her family. The long lost sister in our film idea is very similar to the girl in The Exorcist.Orphan
"Kate and John are grief-stricken at the loss of an unborn child. However, they rebuild their troubled marriage as Kate goes into therapy and recovers from her alcoholism. The couple adopt a nine year old Russian girl named Esther, and although they welcome her home their son is less welcoming. Eventually, Kate begins to suspect that Esther is not an angelic little girl after all, and harbours a sinister secret."
This is similar to our film as the girl in Orphan appears to be a normal girl but has a secret plot twist at the end. We aim for our characters to portray similar traits to Esther in Orphan and we also aim to have a plot twist at the end of our film.
